What to Expect in Your First 90 Days
Here’s a quick look at what you should be focusing on over your first 3 months of Pinterest marketing and what results you should expect over time.

Month 1Your first month is mostly going to be a lot of research and prep, but this will go a long way in the long run. Once you have your boards setup and a good list of keywords, the process will go a lot of faster in the future. You’ll also have a feel for what Pin designs are common in your niche.

  • Account setup
  • Basic keyword research
  • Study what’s currently popular
  • Create or purchase Pin templates
  • Start posting 3-7 Pins per week

Month 2This is when you’ll start to see the fruits of all that research in month 1. At this point, you should start seeing more impressions on your Pins and certain topics will start to jump out, especially if they’re ranking for low competition keywords.

  • More impressions along with some Saves and Outbound clicks
  • May see some rankings for low competition keywords
  • Continue to Pin 3-7 times per week, but may increase to 1-5 per day if you have the content to support it
  • Optimize your workflow for creating and posting new Pins

Month 3If you stayed consistent you now have tons of Pins uploaded and way more data to work with. You should also start to see a lot more click-throughs and saves as well. You can now start creating Pins backed by proven data.

  • More and Saves and click-throughs
  • Start tracking which Pins, keywords, and topics are most popular
  • Create more Pins for new and existing content in styles that are showing good results
  • Brainstorm new content/products based on what’s proven to work for you already
  • Increase to 3-10 daily Pins if you have enough content to support it

Month 4+Now that you have some build up to focus on, you can start creating more of what’s working for you. You may have several stand-out Pins based on seasonality or high visibility in search results or even because users saved images from your page to their own Pinterest accounts. These popular Pins should guide your decisions to continue on with your next steps.

You may also want to start looking into more advanced Pinterest/website strategies depending on your goals, such as:
  • Advanced Pinterest SEO
  • Advanced Pinning strategies
  • Email funnels
  • Sales funnels
  • Lead generation
  • Affiliate marketing strategies
  • Joining blog ad networks

You don’t need to learn all of this at once, you may even be happy with your results for the time being, but there’s always room to scale! For now though, let’s just focus on getting you through those crucial first three months.
